Mormonism - Count 3 - Creation/Destruction of Matter

“Hence, we infer that God had materials to organize the world1 out of chaos—chaotic matter, which is element, and in which dwells all the glory. Element had an existence from the time he had. The pure principles of element are principles which can never be destroyed; they may be organized and re-organized, but not destroyed. They had no beginning, and can have no end.2a” pg 350-352 The King Follett Discourse

“The elements are eternal, and spirit and element inseparably connected receive a fullness of joy. * * * The elements are the tabernacle of God; yea, man is the tabernacle of God, even temples.” (D. and C. Sec. 93:33-35.)

God does have power over the elements and they are not eternal.
2Pe 3:10  But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a rushing noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat. And the earth and the works in it will be burned up.
2Pe 3:11  Then, all these things being about to be dissolved, what sort ought you to be in holy behavior and godliness,
2Pe 3:12  looking for and rushing the coming of the Day of God, on account of which the heavens, being on fire, will melt away, and the elements will melt, burning with heat?

Melt: G3089 (λύω) luō: A primary verb; to “loosen” (literally or figuratively): - break (up),destroy, dissolve, (un-) loose, melt, put off. Compare G4486.

Burned up: G2618(κατακαίω) katakaiō: From G2596 and G2545; to burn down (to the ground), thatis, consume wholly: - burn (up, utterly).
