Family

I am a Christian, born and raised in the South-eastern United States. While I may come from the land of rednecks and Hillbillies, my family is anything but. I actually come from a family of engineers. My father is a civil engineer and worked for the State's Department of Transportation designing roads and bridges. My Grandfather, on my mother's side, was an electrical engineer. My uncle, also on my mother's side, is also an electrical engineer. My brother is currently studying to become an electrical engineer also. The only reason I did not also go into the engineering school was because I believe I was called by God to be a pastor.
I was home-schooled from middle school through high-school. I spent a great deal of time reading and studying on my own. The love of learning has held a special place in my heart throughout my life. I am currently working on finishing my master's degree in business. My interests include reading and researching on the side. One of these interests is theology which provided the motivation for this blog..
Personality Typing

One of my side interests is in the
Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator. I particularly enjoy it because it helps me to understand both myself and others better. I have never been good at understanding the emotions or motivations of others. MBTI helps to give me insight into the mind of others. For those of you not familiar with this test. It is a set of 4 scales. Introversion vs Extroversion. This has to do with how your mind gains energy. In general , Introverts gain mental energy through time in quiet environment either alone or with a small group of friends. Extroverts tend to gain energy from large gatherings and active dynamic environments. The second scale is sensor vs intuition. This is has to do with how you gather information. People high on the sensor tend to be more aware of the physical environment. They learn from trial and error and enjoy working with their hands. They prefer activities or interests that are practical and are related to the physical scenes (sight, hearing, smell, touch, taste). People high on intuition tend to be more abstract. They spend a lot of time in their heads and enjoy theoretical interests. The third scale is thinking vs feelings. Thinkers tend to prefer logic when making decisions. Feelers tend to follow their heart and have more concern with individuals. The last scale is perceiveing vs judging. Judgers like resolution. They tend to make lists, schedules, and rules. They like having things decided and organised. Perceivers enjoy the possibility. They like brainstorming and keeping their options open as long as they can before making a decision For those of you who would like to see your type. Please take the
test!
Ideas
I enjoy ideas in general. I enjoy learning and mastering new skills and hobbies. Currently my interests are Christian Theology and personality typing. I have a long list of things I want to learn. On that list are such oddities as: metal working, truck (18 wheeler) driving, other languages, etc.
I also enjoy reading.
